As my family birthday dinner we went to the Mahle House with Auntie and Uncle. We have done the Chef’s Choice dinner a few times over the years. The food is locally sourced and grown which is super awesome!
The Chef’s Choice is a five course meal and is only offered on Wednesdays. It is essentially a surprise what you are going to eat. Each course is brought out and you are told what it is. There are four options for each course, so if you are a group of four or less everyone will have a different dish. Substitutions are not an option, but they will modify for allergies. That being said, the idea of the meal is to be adventurous and try new things. The cost is $55 per person. Which if you think about a locally sourced five course meal, $55 is not outrageous. It is recommended that you make a reservation in advance as the Mahle House can be a very busy place! I recommend give yourself lots of time as we were there for about two and half hours after all was said and done.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we received. There was everything from pork belly to halibut to braised short rib. Each course was unique and well prepared. Here is a glimpse at what arrived at our table this past Wednesday night!
I unfortunately did not get to eat my dessert at dinner like everyone else. My IBS kicked in, but the staff was so wonderful and packed it up for me to take home. Was even plated nicely in the box!
Over the years we have done the Chef’s Choice dinner a few times. Every time is new delicious experience. We have yet to have the same meal twice!
Would highly recommend trying the Chef’s Choice if you are an adventurous eater!
