Traveling is a lot of fun and sometimes it is hard to know where to stay. Our go to hotel in Victoria, BC is the Coast Victoria Hotel and Marina by APA. We have always had good service and have been able to take advantage of some good deals!
The Coast is a bit more on the pricy side, but you get what you pay for. We like to splurge a bit when we go away and have a comfy bed, is in a good location, and has a nice view.
The Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA is in a great location if you don’t mind a bit of walking. We walk from the Coast to downtown which reduces extra parking we need to pay for. A quick walk along the waterfront and you are at the BC Parliament Buildings. Over the years we have found that we are far enough away from the downtown core to not hear the night life or events going on, but close enough to experience them without needing a cab.
If you are wanting to be able to have a view of downtown there is a $150 a night difference between rooms with a harbour view and those without. Be aware of the slight word variation when booking. From rooms facing the Victoria Harbour you can watch boats coming in and seaplanes landing and taking off.
Our room was clean and even had an origami swan on the bed which was a nice detail. The bed was soft and the pillows were fluffy. If you are a firm pillow sleeper you may consider bringing one of your own to guarantee a good nights rest.
This time during our visit we had two chairs in the sitting area, but last time we had a couch. We found the chairs to be comfy, but you aren’t able to stretch out the same as with a couch. One draw back about the room is that the tv is mounted across from the bed and it does not move at all. When you are in the sitting area you either have to watch the tv at an angle or not at all. This also means that if someone wants to watch tv and someone wants to sleep it might be a bit of a challenge. Small details to consider, when picking where to stay
Overall we love to stay at the Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina because it is clean, comfy, has great hospitality, and is in a great location!
