On a recent road trip through the Okanagan, we stayed at the Sandman Hotel Penticton twice in one week—once at the start of our trip and again before heading home. While both stays were generally comfortable, our rooms were noticeably different, and this review shares what to expect.
First Stay: Clean and Comfortable
Our first room was on the second floor, overlooking the indoor pool. It was clean and well-maintained, with two double beds, a flat-screen TV, mini fridge, microwave, and a coffee/tea station. The bathroom was tidy and fresh, and the quiet atmosphere made for a good night’s rest.
Second Stay: Not Quite the Same
During our return visit, we were placed in a ground-floor room. This one showed more wear and tear, and unfortunately, the bathroom had visible mold in the grout and on the ceiling. It felt like this room had seen heavier use and needed a deeper clean.

- Large parking lot: Easy to find parking, even during busy hours.

- Central location: Ideal for visiting Penticton’s wineries, beaches, or events.
Accessibility & Other Considerations
- Only one elevator for the entire building—expect wait times during busy periods.
- All exterior doors lack accessibility buttons. Be prepared to open and hold doors manually while carrying luggage. This could be a challenge for guests with mobility issues.
- All ice machines were out of order during our stay.
