“You receive what you think you deserve. You get in life what you have the courage to ask for”.
-Adelaine Mornin
Recently I received the Girls Supporting Girls hoodie that I had ordered at the end of March. It is such a cozy hoodie and an awesome shade of teal. However, that is only partly why I got it. Fanjoy did a March Madness sale which really helped with the USD to CAD exchange rate. I ordered the Adelaine Morin Ovarian Cancer Awareness Hoodie. Part of the purchase price is donated to ovarian cancer research. Adelaine is a big supporter of people being kind to one another and girls building each other up and not tearing each other down.
In the world today, people aren’t always the nicest to each other. High school is typically remembered as the difficult years of bullying, peer pressure, and other difficult times. It doesn’t need to be like that though. Being nice to each other isn’t a very difficult thing to do, yet it doesn’t seem to be the automatic response in a number of situations. You don’t need to tear other people down to feel better about yourself.
I feel good about supporting someone who wants to manifest a happier and nicer world. Adelaine is a YouTuber and Influencer who reaches a large number of people. Her Main Channel has 2.58 million followers and her Vlog Channel has 1.17 million followers. I watch her vlogs more than her other videos because I find them to be relatable. She has talks about what makes her happy, what makes her sad, and even her mental health. Mental health can be still taboo with a number of social circles. I applaud her for having the courage to tackle concepts that people may not appreciate because they are personal.
The world isn’t always rainbows and unicorns even though those would be to awesome things to see on a regular basis. Life is difficult and we should be aware of our words and actions to not make peoples lives more complex than they already are. Together we can work towards a happier world for everyone. Pay it forward, no act of kindness is to small!
