Recently we checked out a new Coast Hotel by APA. We love to stay at Coast Hotels because we have found that their level of service is great and consistent. They also have a decent rewards program for what I’ve been able to use so far. Being able to use points to pay for future reservations has been great. I do look for member deals and double point promotions when booking. They have different promotions all the time so it is worth keeping an eye on their website if you know you will be traveling within the next few months.

Coast Premium Queen Junior Suite

Neither of us have stayed at the Coast Prince George Hotel before this trip so everything was new to us. Sadly, it was a more in and out stay as we go there late and had to leave early to continue our journey. We stayed in the Coast Premium Queen Junior Suite because it is pet friendly. Normally we don’t go for suites but we had our dog Taco with us and it is what was available at the time.

The hotel was quiet for what we heard during our stay on a Sunday night. We did check in later in the evening so that may have factored into the low traffic we saw in the lobby and hallways. The level of cleanliness we saw was consistent with other Coast Hotels we have stayed at. Another reason that we choose to stay at Coast Hotels whenever possible. The suite had tones of room and would make a great place to stay for longer visits to Prince George.

Compared to the prices were are use to paying while staying in Victoria, BC the suite was a major steal! However, location factors into that equation as well. When staying in Victoria you are walking distance to downtown and can see the harbour from your room if you are on that side of the hotel. The suite is one that I hope to stay in again down the road for a few nights to really maximize the extra space compared to standard rooms.

Winston’s Resto Bar

Red pepper & spinach cheese dip, spicy shrimp tower, calamari, and poutine

The food from their in house restaurant was delicious! We ordered dinner from the Winston’s Resto-Bar and ate it in our room. I called from the hotel phone and they called back when it was ready for us to come down and pick it up.

We had the red pepper & spinach cheese dip, spicy shrimp tower, calamari, and poutine. The calamari had the perfect crunch and the cheese dip was best with the pita chips. We opted to share pub grub/appetizers because it gave us options and reduced the brainpower needed after traveling for 10 hours in the car.

Can’t wait to make it back to Prince George to really get to see the town and take advantage of the hotel amenities. The pool was closed for renovations while we were there and I would like to try the breakfast at Winston’s Resto-Bar.
