“Good bread is the most fundamentally satisfying of all foods; and good bread with fresh butter, the greatest of feasts.”
―James Beard
Today we decided to attempt making our first loaf of bread since getting a bread maker from my uncle. For the first try we used a simple recipe that didn’t require anything other than normal items one would find in their pantry.
When using a bread maker it is important to remember to put the wet ingredients in first. If not, the mixing process may be a bit more challenging for the machine as they are set to a timer. The timer on ours included rise time after it was done mixing.
There were a lot of settings so we double checked the online manual.
Recipe:
2 eggs
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp oil (any olive or canola)
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup warm water
3 cups flour
2-1/2 tsp dry yeast
Put wet ingredients in first!
Bake at 375 º for 15-20 minutes. Cook time may vary depending on the type and size of the pan you are using.
Let cool before slicing.
Fresh bread is the best!
Over all, the bread turned out to be absolutely delicious! Now that we have the idea down we plan to make a lot more loafs of bread and other baked goods. We have been looking into different types of pans to help with future baking. For example, a muffin top pan can be used to make hamburger buns.
